Crowd Goes Wild as Air Force One Roars Over Stadium for Trump’s Arrival at Commanders Game

Air Force One Stuns Crowd With Flyover As President Trump Arrives for Commanders vs. Lions Game

Air Force One performed a spectacular flyover above Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, as President Donald Trump arrived to watch the Washington Commanders take on the Detroit Lions.
The event coincided with the NFL’s annual “Salute to Service” ceremony honoring U.S. military members and veterans.

The presidential aircraft soared low over the stadium as tens of thousands of fans erupted in cheers. Footage taken from inside the plane showed the crowd and the aircraft projected onto the stadium’s jumbotron, creating a breathtaking scene that quickly spread across social media.

The NFL’s Salute to Service campaign honors service members, veterans, and their families through special ceremonies, community initiatives, and in-game recognitions held throughout the season.

President Trump was expected to watch the game from the owner’s suite at the Commanders’ temporary home in Landover. The team continues to play there while awaiting completion of its new $3.7 billion stadium in Washington, D.C., which is set to open in 2030.

According to National News Desk, the Commanders confirmed that the game was completely sold out after President Trump’s attendance was announced. Because of the high-profile nature of the event, fans were advised to arrive early and prepare for TSA-style security screenings at all entrances.

ESPN later reported that President Trump expressed interest in having the new Commanders stadium named after him. The team currently retains ownership of its naming rights, which are expected to be sold to a corporate sponsor, though a source noted that any honorary naming would be a separate decision.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt commented on the idea, calling it “a beautiful name,” adding, “It was President Trump who made the rebuilding of the new stadium possible.”
