Fans of Miranda Lambert suspect that is exactly what was going on when someone caught a glimpse of her and her husband Brendan McLoughlin at a show. McLoughlin stood stoically beside a dancing Lambert, looking utterly “miserable” and “frustrated,” and fans had a few theories as to why.

For one, fans thought he might just be totally “over” being filmed, as fans were sneaking small photos and videos of her all night. But the stronger and more prevailing theory is that as a former cop and security guard, he was in hyper-protective mode.

“Cop mode making sure there’s not a creeper creeping,” assumed one fan.

“He was a cop and her bodyguard, it’s his job! And he does a dang good job at it,” added another.

“Once a cop always a cop! They are always scanning the area,” assured another.

Who is Miranda Lambert’s Husband Brendan McLoughlin?

After meeting on the set of Good Morning America (Lambert as a guest with her former band The Pistol Annies and McLoughlin a cop working security), the two ended up tying the knot in 2019 just a year after meeting. McLoughlin retired from the Staten Island Police Department in 2020 and is said to be the head of his wife’s security detail, a role he clearly takes seriously.

“He jumped right into this lifestyle — there’s a learning curve taking a New Yorker straight to the woods — but it was a big laugh,” she told People. “It’s nice to have a partner in that, someone by your side that supports you, loves you and believes in you. He loves me for me. It’s a really cool thing to have in my life, at this point in my life.”

The two have gushed over each other multiple times online and in interviews, and even co-wrote some of Lambert’s songs together. Appearances aren’t always as they seem; these two plan on being in it for the long haul despite McLoughlin’s “grumpy” appearance.
