Julián Andreu was only ten when his mother passed away. After the funeral, his father—Don Emilio Andreu—changed. Once the proud, stoic head of the Andreu family, Emilio became a shadow of himself. He stopped tending to the vineyard, stopped playing the piano at night, and worst of all, stopped smiling at Julián.

But Julián didn’t give up on him.

Every morning before school, he watered the vines. Every evening, he’d sit at the old piano and play his mother’s favorite melody, even if the notes were off. He didn’t speak much—just watched his father, waiting. One day, after nearly a year of silence, Julián placed a letter on the piano bench. Inside were just six words, written in shaky handwriting:

“I miss her. But I have you.”

That night, Emilio returned to the piano. He sat beside his son, and for the first time in what felt like forever, music filled the house again. Not perfectly. But beautifully.
