Good Morning Britain viewers took to social media to express their frustrations after Thursday morning’s show.

Good Morning Britain has sparked backlash from viewers during Thursday morning’s installment of the show as fans fumed that the presenters are “obsessed” with one topic. On today’s episode of the ITV show on September 25, hosts Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley brought viewers the latest news from across the UK and around the world.

Laura Tobin joined them in the studio to provide regular weather updates while Jonathan Swain handled the rest of the day’s news. Kate and Richard chatted on the show about whether Andy Burnham may be the next Prime Minister after the Mayor of Greater Manchester revealed that MPs are urging him to challenge Sir Keir Starmer for the Labour leadership.

In a later segment, they discussed immigration with commentators Nels Abbey and Kwasi Kwarteng. Richard said: “The problem is, when a problem as big as illegal and legal immigration at the scale that it’s on goes unresolved for so long, the atmosphere around it becomes febrile.

“And you get the kind of stuff that you see on the front page of The Sun, which is probably justified, and you get all the tropes as well.

“For example, that foreign immigrants are going into London parks and killing and eating the swans, and this raised its head, would you believe, again yesterday in a radio exchange involving [Nigel] Farage.”

Kate chimed in: “[The Royal Parks] have completely denied that they’ve had any incident of swans being taken. The RSPCA has also said that, and they work closely with them, too.”

Nels then spoke up about his concerns regarding the potential damage that Farage’s assertions could cause, stating: “That doesn’t benefit any of us as a nation. We are still going to have to live here amongst each other to make this nation work.

“How this actually benefits anybody, particularly as somebody who calls themselves a patriot, is anybody’s guess.”

GMB viewers were quick to express their frustration at the programme’s repetitive focus on immigration debates, with many labelling it an “obsession”.

Taking to X, one fan complained: “GMB really are obsessed with migration and Nigel Farage, it’s non-stop”.

A second fumed: “Turned on TV and that man is on, spouting off. Turned off TV.”

Someone else chimed in: “I think I might do the same, it’s ridiculous, like you say there’s more going on in the uk than migration, I think most people are more concerned about food and energy bills going up etc.”
