Johannes Radebe confirms Strictly Come Dancing future on The Graham Norton Show
Fan-favourite professional dancer Johannes Radebe has put to rest rumours he was planning to quit Strictly Come Dancing after an emotional exit from the 2025 series.
The popular South African pro, who has been part of the BBC One hit since 2018, addressed speculation about his Strictly future during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show — reassuring viewers that he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Clearing Up Confusion After Emotional Farewell
Radebe and his celebrity partner, actress Alex Kingston, were eliminated from the most recent Strictly Come Dancing season late last year. During the results show, Johannes delivered a heartfelt goodbye, telling his Strictly family:
“Bye to my Strictly family, I love you. I’m forever grateful.”
Some fans interpreted that as a signal he might be leaving the show. But during his chat with host Graham Norton, Johannes quashed the rumours, saying:
“I will do that show for as long as they will have me. It’s a magical, sparkling world. I love it.”
The statement was met with relief from longtime viewers who have come to adore Radebe’s energy, creativity, and presence on the dance floor.

A Beloved Strictly Star
Over his seven years on the show, Radebe has become one of Strictly’s standout professionals. He has been paired with a variety of celebrity partners — including John Whaite, Caroline Quentin, Ellie Taylor and others — and has reached finals multiple times, though a win has so far eluded him.

Balancing Strictly With West End Dreams
Johannes is also preparing for his West End debut in the musical Kinky Boots, where he will take on the role of Lola at the London Coliseum later this year. He took on the part after working with singing and acting coaches to expand his performance skills.
Despite his growing theatre success, Radebe made it clear that his love for Strictly remains strong — and he looks forward to continuing with the show while exploring new projects.
