Derek Hough recently opened up on The Bobbycast about one of the most bizarre moments of his Dancing with the Stars career — and it didn’t happen on the dance floor. The six-time Mirrorball Trophy winner revealed that someone once stole two of his precious trophies right from his home.

According to Hough, the incident happened back when he was still a bachelor and had earned only three Mirrorball trophies. After hosting a party one night, he woke up the next morning to discover that two of his trophies were gone.

Rather than write them off, Hough took action. A mysterious card found at the scene led him to call someone connected to the case — and incredibly, the missing trophies had been abandoned in a bush in Koreatown. Hough was able to retrieve them and bring them back home.

The DWTS judge didn’t disclose the full identity of the person who took them, but the story has fans laughing at the unexpected adventure behind some of television’s most iconic awards.

These days, Hough’s priorities have shifted — he and his wife Hayley Erbert recently welcomed their first child, daughter Everley Capri Hough.
