Snoop Dogg: ‘I’m Scared to Take My Grandkids to the Movies’ After Pixar’s Gay Couple in Lightyear Sparks Awkward Questions

Rap legend Snoop Dogg has revealed he’s now “scared to go to the movies” with his grandchildren after Pixar’s Lightyear –  the Toy Story spin-off starring Chris Evans left him facing tough questions he wasn’t ready for.

The 53-year-old icon said he simply wanted a fun afternoon with his grandson but instead ended up cornered into an unexpected discussion about same-sex parenting after a scene showing two women raising a child.

> “In the middle of the movie my grandson’s like, ‘Papa Snoop? How she have a baby with another woman? She’s a woman!’”the rapper recalled.
> “I didn’t come for this — I came to watch the goddamn movie!”

Snoop admitted the moment left him “freaked out”, adding: “These are kids. Do we have to show that at this age? They’re going to ask questions. I don’t have the answers.”

The *Lightyear* controversy first erupted in 2022 when Disney briefly considered cutting Pixar’s first-ever same-sex kiss sparking outrage from staff who accused executives of censoring LGBTQ+ affection. The kiss was later restored, with Chris Evans calling it “a step forward” and saying he hopes one day such moments “won’t even be news.”

But for Snoop, the debate isn’t about politics, it’s about parenting. “It threw me for a loop,”he said. “Now I’m scared to go back to the movies with my grandkids.”
