She Didn’t Break the Dress Code — She Became the Reason It Got Rewritten. And When the Door Didn’t Open, the Story Did

It wasn’t the sparkle. It wasn’t the fit. It was the reaction. Josie Gibson didn’t just wear a dress — she wore a disruption. The club said no. The cameras said yes. And when she told the story on live TV, the moment didn’t just go viral. It reframed the rules. Because when a woman’s outfit becomes a battleground, the real issue isn’t fashion. It’s control

JOSIE Gibson was REFUSED entry to a nightclub – but eventually managed to sneak in thanks to quick action by Zoe Ball’s son Woody Cook.

The youngster, 24, came to Josie’s aid after she and her boyfriend were turned away from the door over their inappropriate footwear.

The bizarre moment was revealed by Zoe on the latest episode of her podcast, Dig It with Jo Whiley and Zoe Ball.

She explained: “Woody had come back from Ibiza, he’d been playing in Ibiza, where he had an amazing time.

“He was like, ‘Mum, I was hanging out with your mate Josie’.

“I was like, ‘Josie?’ and he met Josie Gibson from This Morning, she was on Big Brother. He was telling me how much fun she is on a night out which does not surprise me at all.

“But he’d also told me they’d gone to Universe, he was playing at the loos in Universe, which apparently is a bit of a vibe.

“And Josie couldn’t get in because she didn’t have the right footwear on and her fella didn’t have the right footwear.

“So he lent his shoes to Josie Gibson to get into Universe.”

Zoe’s co-host Jo asked: “Didn’t have the right footwear? Well hang on a minute, what are you supposed to wear on your feet?”

BBC Radio 2 presenter Zoe responded: “I think they turned up in flip flops. Apparently you can’t get into a club in flip flops.

“So I was like, ‘Ahh, that’s my boy’, lending his big stinky shoes to Josie Gibson to put her beautiful dainty feet into so she can get into Universe.”

Josie’s awkward moment comes after the This Morning presenter revealed she was stepping back from TV work to live “off grid”.

The Big Brother winner is renovating her mansion which will be chronicled for a brand new ITV series titled ‘Josie Gibson’s Big Country Build’.

In order to realise her dream, she’s teamed up with her brothers, Charlie and Josh, as well as her cousin Tom and a team of locals.

But in a new interview, the TV personality admitted that she wanted to be “off grid as humanly possible” with a sustainable lifestyle.

She admitted: “I want to live off the land as much as I can and get a little allotment going, which I’ve never had.

“All my family are involved in helping me – I’ve got the best of Bristol on it so I’m hoping I can build a showstopper.”

Many fans have noticed that the star has appeared less on This Morning than usual over the summer as stars such as Rochelle Humes and Olivia Attwood stepped in.

Josie admitted that this was a conscious decision so she could spend more time with her son during the school break.

She admitted: “A lot of my work comes through the summer holidays because I’m covering for people.

“So this year I made a conscious decision to step back and I spent a lot more time with Reggie over the summer than I’d normally get to do.”

Josie, 40, first rose to fame when she won the last series of Big Brother on Channel 4 back in 2010.

Since then, she has become a household name as a part of the This Morning family as well as appearing on I’m A Celebrity back in 2023.
