Rylan Clark left This Morning fans open-mouthed as he made a baffling confession about his natural hair live on air.

During Thursday’s instalment of the ITV daytime programme, the presenter, 36, and Sian Welby, 38, were joined by trichologist Anabel Kingsley to discuss hair tips and tricks.

However, viewers at home jokingly branded Rylan a ‘liar’ as he told the hair and scalp specialist that he used to dye his hair years ago, seemingly hinting that he doesn’t anymore, when he is, in fact, naturally ginger.

Kicking off the segment, Rylan addressed hair myths with Anabel and asked the specialist whether shampooing your hair every day is considered bad for your hair.

Anabel confirmed that daily shampooing is, in fact, one of the ‘best things you can do’ as you want to keep your scalp clean and healthy.

Appearing shocked, Rylan said: ‘Well, I’m so glad that I’ve busted that myth, because sometimes I sit there and go “oh, can I get away with this hair?”

He continued: ‘Because if it’s not clean, like if I’m having my hair coloured, I prefer to colour on non-clean hair. I used to do colour years ago, especially blonde and stuff like that, it always just grabs better on dirty hair.’

Several viewers then flocked to X, formerly Twitter, to call Rylan out with one writing: ‘Rylan telling porkpies he said he used to colour his hair years ago of course you did and still do (laughing emoji)’;

‘#ThisMorning Did Rylan say he used to dye his hair? He’s a natural ginger, so he still does.’;

Another joked: ‘Rylan needs a new look he’s been rockin the Yorkshire ripper look for a while now #ThisMorning.’; ‘And you dye it. You’re a natural ginger. #ThisMorning.’

Rylan is currently co-hosting This Morning alongside Sian whilst Cat Deeley, 48, and Ben Shephard, 50, enjoy a break from their hectic schedules.

It comes after Rylan whisked his beloved mum Linda, 73, off on holiday to Marbella earlier this month.

After he returned, he then shared a photo dump on Instagram as he reminisced on their time away.

The first picture in the carousel saw Rylan and his mum embrace in a hug, both smiling from ear to ear.

Other snaps saw Rylan with his friend Kimberley Morgan.

As well as the rest of their group posing together for a group photo.

They appeared to be staying at the five-star Puente Romano hotel in the Spanish city,

And Rylan posted a photo of the outside of the hotel.

He penned: ‘Gorgeous couple of days in Marbella with the mother and the gang’ alongside a red heart.
