Luke Combs Surprised by $90,000 Gift from Garth Brooks: “I Thought I Was Dreaming”

In a recent appearance on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, country singer Luke Combs shared the story of an unexpected and generous gift he received from country music legend Garth Brooks: a Ford Bronco Raptor worth approximately $90,000.

This gift was a gesture of appreciation from Brooks for Combs’ participation in the 2022 Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony, where Brooks received the Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award. At the event, Combs performed Brooks’ song “The Beaches of Cheyenne.”

After the ceremony, Brooks posted on social media, expressing that he had “never felt like a songwriter until Luke Combs sang ‘The Beaches of Cheyenne.'”

To show his gratitude, Brooks reached out to Combs’ manager to find out about his preferences and decided to gift him the Bronco Raptor. However, due to supply chain issues, the vehicle couldn’t be delivered immediately, and it took over a year for it to reach Combs.

When Combs received the gift, he was shocked and didn’t understand why. He shared, “I thought I was dreaming. We weren’t that close.” After calling to thank Brooks, he realized that the gift was Brooks’ way of expressing appreciation for his participation, even though he had only been a small part of the event.
