And now a source says, ‘Holly feels she can’t win at the moment – the criticism is really starting to bring her down. The MRI backlash feels unfair. It’s humiliating and she feels singled out.
‘Holly’s really got into wellness over the past few years, and while £1,500 is out of reach for a lot of people, many of her followers could afford that.
‘She is used to the finer things and tries to be as relatable as possible, but it’s not always easy.’
As many on this recent post joked, ‘Did she jump the queue again?’, it’s clear fans haven’t forgotten when Holly and Phillip Schofield reportedly cut in line to view the late Queen Elizabeth II lying-in-state.
The mum of three was also dubbed ‘tone deaf’ for flying into Glastonbury – a famously ‘green’ festival –via a £14k helicopter ride this summer.
Although Holly’s recent choices may have frustrated her followers, they come after a difficult few years. In October 2023, Holly was forced to step away from her 14-year presenting role on This Morning, after being the target of a sick kidnap plot. On top of that, Dancing On Ice – which she hosted for almost 20 years – was axed by executives this year, and Celebrity Bear Hunt, her Netflix show with Bear Grylls, was not renewed for a second season.
‘Holly feels she gets a lot of flak for doing the same things as other celebrities,’ the insider now adds. ‘It’s not her intention to make others feel bad – but she doesn’t see what she did wrong with her post.’
