It’s not a farewell yet — but it’s coming. As ITV reshuffles its morning roster, one familiar face is stepping aside. The move isn’t just about casting. It’s about chemistry, ratings, and the future of breakfast TV

As ITV prepares for significant transformations, one Good Morning Britain personality could see their role undergo substantial changes. Charlotte Hawkins, 50, has remained a cornerstone of the breakfast programme for more than ten years, yet a big shake up is reportedly on the horizon for her.

Charlotte is poised to undertake new duties throughout the ITV timetable, having made her News at Ten debut last week. It seems this will mark the beginning of numerous appearances as part of the daytime integration with ITN. According to an insider, Charlotte will now present the news across the entire schedule. This will result in her contract being modified from what audiences have become accustomed to over the previous decade. A source told the press: “She’ll still read on GMB but also the lunchtime, evening and News at Ten. It’s a major change because she was solely contracted for GMB.”

Express has contacted ITV for comment. These revelations emerged as ITV’s daytime flagship programmes are expected to undergo a massive restructuring in the coming months.

Alongside GMB facing examination, Loose Women and Lorraine are set to encounter reductions as part of fresh budget-cutting initiatives.

From 2026, Lorraine Kelly’s morning show is to be reduced to a 30-minute segment. It will broadcast from 9.30am to 10am instead of its present hour-long structure.

In addition to the reduction in programme duration, the show will also only transmit for 30 weeks annually.

This will allegedly result in the replacement presenters who currently substitute the Scottish host during her holidays losing their positions. Lorraine recently declared her passion for television work and assured fans she is “not done yet” despite the budget reductions.

Speaking on Tom Kerridge’s Proper Tasty podcast, she revealed: “I’ve been around for so long. I’ve been doing telly for over 40 years. It’s mad isn’t it?”.

“It’s absolutely crazy. I started in breakfast telly in 1984, and I’m still getting away with it. Extraordinarily. 40 years in TV last year was incredible. I got a BAFTA. ‘Here’s a BAFTA for being alive.’ I thought, ‘Hang on a minute, I’m not done yet.'”.

Loose Women is also confronting major alterations.

Similar to Lorraine, the midday chat programme will shortly only broadcast “on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year” according to ITV executives.

The move means the programme will abandon some of its signature elements, including its live studio audience.

It’s understood the decision will also trim its roster of panellists as part of the overhaul.

Despite the alterations to established programmes, executives are confident fresh episodes of The Chase, the network’s highest-rated quiz programme, will provide assistance.

The programme is scheduled to be produced over four months later this year, with production firm Potato currently hiring staff to work on the series between September and December.

Meanwhile, Tipping Point enthusiasts can relax following rumours that the programme might face cancellation.

No fresh episodes were produced last year, which sparked worry amongst viewers about the programme’s future. Despite the changes, several past favourites are set to take centre stage on the channel.

It’s been confirmed that new episodes of The Chase, Tipping Point and Deal or No Deal will be filmed later this year, securing their broadcast slots for 2026.
