Broadcaster Kate Garraway has shared a surprising behind-the-scenes detail about the private WhatsApp group created by the cast of The Celebrity Traitors, the psychological game show that returned to the BBC on 8 October 2025. Inspired by Mafia and Werewolf, the hit series features 19 celebrities — including Stephen Fry, Tom Daley and Jonathan Ross — competing for up to £100,000 for their chosen charities.

Throughout the season, viewers have witnessed dramatic twists, heated round-table confrontations and shocking betrayals, including Alan Carr “murdering” Paloma Faith in plain sight as the traitors’ first victim. Garraway, 58, was among the most recent contestants to be eliminated, though she insists she “didn’t take it personally” when fellow celebrities turned against her.

Following filming, the cast formed a WhatsApp group to stay connected. Garraway described it as “popping off all day and night — it’s brilliant.” However, one major star declined the invitation: host Claudia Winkleman. According to Kate, Claudia told them the group should remain “a space just for the contestants, now that you’re out and know everything.”

Relationships among the cast have also been tested. Paloma Faith and Alan Carr, once close friends, have reportedly grown distant following his dramatic betrayal. Ruth Codd, who was “murdered” by the traitors, even called Jonathan Ross a “f****ng snake” behind the scenes — though Garraway says the pair seemed perfectly fine at the cast reunion, suggesting no lingering resentment.
