Beloved Great British Bake Off presenter Alison Hammond has opened up about her weight fluctuations after achieving an impressive 11-stone (69.8kg) weight loss.

The 50-year-old TV star, who previously reportedly weighed 28-stone (177.80kg) at her peak, has become an inspiration to countless people through her remarkable transformation journey, shedding her weight down to 16-and-a-half stone (104.77kg) and successfully reversing a pre-diabetic condition.

The This Morning favourite has discussed her incredible change as the latest instalment of the beloved Channel 4 baking programme returns to our television screens.

In conversation with Bella magazine about her wellness and exercise routine, Alison revealed she had gained a modest amount of weight whilst filming, though she has since shed half of what she had added.

When questioned about whether she had successfully resisted overindulging on the programme this year, Alison responded: “I’m a lot more disciplined now. I only put two kilos on this year and I’ve already lost one kilo of it.”

This marks not the first occasion Alison has addressed her weight reduction journey.

Earlier this year, she revealed to Heat magazine that employing a personal trainer represents one of the fundamental elements of her triumphant fitness transformation.

She explained to the magazine: “I’ve got a personal trainer – she’s amazing, she trains me when I can train. If I’m working, I don’t train, I’ll go for a walk.

“But when I’m at home, I’ll go and have a session with her in the morning, just an hour. It might be four days a week.”

Working alongside a personal trainer, Alison has also discussed her dietary approach and how she strikes a balance between nutritious and indulgent choices.

Speaking to the Sunday Times Magazine, mum-of-one Alison revealed how she involves her family in her routine, explaining how her eating habits differ depending on whether she’s working and when she visits the gym.

She said: “If I’m not filming, the first thing I do…is go to the gym, where I’ll do some heavy lifting. I’ve been doing weights for ten years now and I can deadlift 65kg.

“It’s good for my mental health and to prevent osteoporosis. You’ve got to keep on top of things. Podcast days are much easier as I record them from my bedroom and I’ll have breakfast at home with Aidan.

“I’ll have a ginger shot, then eggs, bacon, sausages – the full works – which will set me up for the day.

“At the studio I’ll have a juice and some Caribbean food for lunch – rice and peas and chicken. If I’m home I’ll cook a lasagne for Aidan, then I potter.”Alison Hammond
