Boston, MA – In a heartfelt revelation, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry shared that frontman Steven Tyler has no desire to tour with the band again, effectively signaling the end of the iconic rock group’s live performances. The news comes after their attempted farewell tour, Peace Out, was cut short in 2023 due to Tyler’s severe larynx injury.

Speaking to WBUR, Perry expressed the challenges the band has faced: “There’s been talk about doing a documentary, that might be part of it. I’ve been spending a lot of time with Steven, and he just doesn’t want to tour, and he can’t tour. It’s tough.” Perry also reflected on the grueling nature of touring, noting, “I’m not sure I would want to go out and book another 40-city tour. It’s a long way to the top, and staying there takes it out of you, especially an Aerosmith tour.”

The Peace Out tour, launched in September 2023, was halted after just three shows when Tyler suffered a vocal injury. Despite hopes for recovery, the band canceled the tour and announced their retirement from touring in August 2024, citing Tyler’s ongoing health challenges.

Speculation about a potential Aerosmith comeback surged after Tyler’s electrifying performance at Ozzy Osbourne’s Back to the Beginning farewell concert last month. However, Perry tempered expectations, stating that while a one-off appearance might be possible, a full-scale tour is unlikely.
