She’s the bubbly Love Island winner who dazzled the nation on Strictly Come Dancing, twirling her way to a heartbreaking runner-up spot just weeks ago.
But now, Amber Davies is wasting no time swapping the ballroom for the courtroom – and she’s undergone a jaw-dropping makeover to step into the iconic pink heels of Elle Woods in the hotly-anticipated UK tour of Legally Blonde The Musical.
The 29-year-old West End sensation sent fans into a frenzy this week when she debuted her new blonde bombshell look on Instagram, posing in full Harvard Law glamour with a perfectly coiffed wig that screams ‘Omigod you guys!’
In a series of sizzling snaps from the promotional shoot, Amber channels Reese Witherspoon’s legendary character to perfection – complete with a chic pink blazer, mini skirt, and that signature sorority girl glow.
‘And just like that a new chapter starts…’ she captioned the post, adding: ‘Tour life and rehearsals begin and it’s time to study hard for Harvard Law. Hopefully see you all at a theatre near you in 2026.’
Fans were quick to flood the comments with praise, with one gushing: ‘You ARE Elle Woods! This is perfect casting!’ Another added: ‘From Strictly silver to legally blonde – iconic transformation queen!’
A third declared: ‘Amber as Elle is the role we didn’t know we needed. Bend and snap incoming!’
The transformation comes hot on the heels of Amber’s whirlwind Strictly journey, where she and pro partner Nikita Kuzmin, 27, finished as joint runners-up in the 2025 series – narrowly missing out on the glitterball trophy.
The Welsh beauty was drafted in at the last minute as a replacement for injured celeb Dani Dyer, joining the lineup just 24 hours before the launch show. Talk about pressure!
But Amber rose to the challenge spectacularly, delivering show-stopping routines week after week that had judges Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood on their feet.
Who could forget their perfect-scoring Jive to Proud Mary in the final, or that sizzling Samba that set the floor alight? Or the emotional Couple’s Choice that reduced everyone to tears?
In the grand final, Amber and Nikita went head-to-head in a fierce battle, ultimately sharing the runner-up spot with another couple. Amber broke down in floods of tears during her exit interview, telling host Tess Daly: ‘This has been the most incredible experience. Nikita, you’ve changed my life.’
Nikita, ever the charmer, replied: ‘Amber, you’re a superstar. We’ve had the best time.’
Since the final in December, Amber has been inundated with offers, but she’s chosen to dive straight back into her first love – musical theatre.
And what a role to return with! Legally Blonde The Musical, the feel-good smash hit based on the 2001 film, kicks off its brand-new Made at Curve production tour in February 2026, starting at Leicester’s Curve theatre before hitting venues across the UK and Ireland.
Amber will star as the bubbly, underestimated Elle Woods – the fashion merchandising student who follows her ex to Harvard Law School and proves she’s got brains as well as beauty.
It’s a demanding part requiring killer vocals, comedy timing, dance skills (handy after Strictly!) and that effortless charm – all of which Amber has in spades.
Producers ROYO and Curve announced her casting back in September 2025, with insiders saying she beat stiff competition for the coveted lead.
‘Hannah Lowther will step in for some performances,’ notes the official blurb, ‘but Amber is the principal Elle – and she’s thrilled.’
A source close to the star tells the Daily Mail: ‘Amber is buzzing. Strictly was amazing, but theatre is her home. Playing Elle is a dream come true – she’s been a fan of the movie since she was a teen.
‘The blonde wig is part of the full transformation. She’s been in fittings, rehearsals are starting soon, and she’s throwing herself into it 110 per cent.
‘After the highs and lows of Strictly – three dance-offs, three perfect 40s – she’s ready for this next chapter. And let’s be honest, who better to play the ultimate blonde ambition icon?’
Let’s take a trip down memory lane for this rising star who’s come so far.
Amber shot to fame in 2017 as the winner of Love Island series three, coupling up with Kem Cetinay and scooping the £50,000 prize in a romance that had the nation hooked.
The pair’s cheeky banter and steamy moments made them villa favourites, but sadly, they split just months later amid reports of blazing rows.
‘We grew apart,’ Amber later reflected. ‘But no regrets – it opened so many doors.’
And open doors it did. The North Wales native, who trained in musical theatre from a young age, wasted no time pivoting to the stage.
Her big break came in 2019 with Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 The Musical, where she wowed as Judy Bernly opposite Louise Redknapp and Brian Conley.
She followed that with Bring It On The Musical as Campbell, then Back to the Future The Musical in the West End as part of the ensemble before landing the lead in Pretty Woman The Musical’s UK tour as Vivian Ward – the role made famous by Julia Roberts.
In 2025, she sparkled as Jordan Baker in the immersive West End production of The Great Gatsby at the London Coliseum, rubbing shoulders with stars like Corbin Bleu.
Off-stage, Amber’s life has been just as colourful. She’s been linked to a string of hunky fellas post-Love Island, including footballer James Hawkins and dancer Nickky Lloyd.
More recently, rumours swirled about a romance with a certain Strictly co-star – but Amber’s kept schtum, saying she’s ‘focusing on work and herself right now.’
‘I’m single and loving it,’ she teased in a recent interview. ‘But who knows what 2026 will bring? Maybe a real-life Warner Huntington III!’
Her Strictly experience wasn’t without drama. Joining so late meant cramming weeks of training into days, and she faced the dance-off three times – including that nail-biting Musicals Week showdown.
But each time, the judges saved her, with Anton dubbing her ‘a little firecracker’ and Craig admitting: ‘You’re improving every week, darling.’
Her partnership with Nikita was pure magic – flirty, fun and fiercely competitive. Their chemistry had fans shipping #Namber hard, with VT packages showing them giggling through rehearsals and sharing heartfelt moments.
‘Nikita is incredible,’ Amber gushed. ‘He’s pushed me further than I thought possible. We’ve become proper mates.’
Post-final, the pair reunited for the Strictly Live Tour, where Amber got to perform her favourite dances one last time in arenas across the country.
But now, all eyes are on Legally Blonde. The tour promises high-energy numbers like What You Want, So Much Better and the iconic Bend and Snap – and Amber’s vowed to bring her A-game.
‘I’ve got my pink wardrobe ready,’ she laughed in a behind-the-scenes clip. ‘Strictly taught me discipline and stamina – perfect for eight shows a week!’
Co-stars include some top theatre talent, with full casting announced recently. George Crawford, Karen Mavundukure and even veteran Adam Cooper joining the company.
TikTok sensations and West End regulars round out the ensemble, promising a fresh, vibrant take on the beloved show.
For Amber, it’s the perfect post-Strictly glow-up. From villa vixen to ballroom babe to blonde legal eagle – she’s proving she’s so much more than just a pretty face.
As one fan put it: ‘Amber Davies as Elle Woods? What, like it’s hard? No – it’s PERFECT!’
We can’t wait to see her bend, snap and conquer the stage. Break a leg, Amber – or should we say, omigod you guys, she’s going to slay!
