Country music legend Reba McEntire and actor Rex Linn confirmed their engagement during a red carpet appearance before the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards.

The announcement came in an exclusive interview with Zuri Hall, host of Live From E!: 2025 Emmys.

When Hall referred to Rex as Reba’s fiancé, the couple smiled and replied,

“We’re having a blast on Happy’s Place and so glad to be here tonight.”

❤️ Reba & Rex’s Sweet Love Story

The couple first met in 1991 on the set of The Gambler. They stayed in touch after filming wrapped but didn’t reconnect romantically until reuniting on the set of Young Sheldon in 2020.

“We instantly bonded over living in Oklahoma and our love for horses and acting,” Reba recalled. “He made me laugh, and we became good buddies.”

Years later, Reba admitted she would happily marry Rex if that was what he wanted:

“He’s never been married before. If he wants to experience that, I’m okay with it.”

Today, the two star together in NBC’s hit show Happy’s Place, even teasing that their characters might get engaged in the upcoming season.

Far from rushing into things, Reba and Rex are simply enjoying life as an engaged couple — but they’ve already given fans a glimpse of what their wedding might look like.

“It’ll be a lot of fun,” said Reba, 70, in a new interview with E! News. “It’s gonna be a nontraditional wedding because that’s Rex and me. We like comfort, we love friends, we love food.”
