I’ve never seen my strong, intelligent father look that way — with fear in his eyes, and looking to me for guidance about what to do next.”

Ultimately, Gary made the brave decision not to undergo emergency surgery. Instead, he chose to return home and spend his remaining time surrounded by love, with the family providing full-time care.
