It is the kind of heartbreak no parent should ever endure. Country singer Drake White and his wife Alex have confirmed the tragic death of their newborn daughter, Della Elizabeth White, leaving Nashville and fans worldwide in mourning.

The couple’s baby girl was born prematurely at just 29 weeks on August 31 and tragically passed away shortly after.

In a devastating Instagram post, Drake and Alex shared: “On Sunday, August 31, our precious daughter, Della Elizabeth White, went peacefully to be with Jesus. We are so thankful for the holy moments God gave us with her… We are heartbroken and soul tired, but we know we will get through this with the strength, peace, and joy that only our Heavenly Father can provide.”

A Family’s Miracle Cut Short

The couple had announced their pregnancy in May, joyfully sharing that Della had been conceived through IVF, just like their son William Hawk. Fans had eagerly awaited her November due date — but now, instead of celebration, the Whites are facing unimaginable grief.

To help cope, they turned to scripture. Among the verses they posted was Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
