COLD CASE — SUSAN LYNN DAWSON (1985) PLEASE SHARE HER STORY

In November 1985, 27-year-old Susan Lynn Dawson vanished from the small community of Neville, Saskatchewan — just three weeks after moving there from Winnipeg.

Susan had been living and working as a live-in housekeeper for a local man, Terry Murphy. On the night of November 12, 1985, she was last seen socializing with friends at a gathering at his home.
She has never been seen again.

What happened next made her disappearance even more troubling.

Two days later, on November 14, Murphy died when his home was destroyed in an explosion. Police later confirmed there was no indication Susan was inside the house at the time.

Investigators believe foul play was involved in Susan’s disappearance and have long suspected Murphy may have played a role.

Additional details continue to raise questions:

• Susan had spoken with her family in Winnipeg just two days earlier and sounded completely fine.
• A rental vehicle linked to Murphy was seen at the property after Susan vanished. It had accumulated about 300 km in mileage, and there was a bullet hole in the trunk. Murphy, who had recently been charged with various firearms offenses, had threatened to blow up his house previously.
• Susan’s own vehicle was later found parked at a local store. Her purse was in the back seat.
• Susan’s remains were never located.
• Her blue heeler / Australian cattle dog also disappeared and has never been found.
