The Price is Right host’s Drew Carey refused to share advice with Jeopardy!’s Ken Jennings and Wheel of Fortune’s Ryan Seacrest and here’s the reason why.

Drew Carey has refused to help the game show newbies.

In the past couple years, iconic game shows like Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune have seen new faces take over the segments and the fans have been begging the old hosts to return. The disapproval has led Ken Jennings to fear for his job and seek approval from the seasoned The Price is Right host.

Carey has been on the CBS game show since 2007, however, he has chosen not to give his almost 20 years of wisdom to Jennings or Ryan Seacrest.

The 66 year old told TV insider his decision came from his time with the previous host of The Price is Right, Bob Barker who gave him the “best advice.”

Carey revealed: “He said, ‘You have to make the show your own, and don’t try to copy me.’ And he’s right.”

The host also feels like the new hosts are doing a perfectly fine job and have another experience to figure it out.

Carey thinks Ryan Seacrest “certainly doesn’t need my advice” since he’s “been in the hosting business forever.”

He explained: “He knows how to make it his own thing and have it come from himself authentically.”

As for Jennings, the host thinks he should continue “doing his own thing.”

When an insider told The US Sun he “needs all the help he can get,” Carey disagreed and said he has “proved his worthiness, and deserves a fair shot from audiences.

Carey says the two spend enough time on their shows for them to be able to find their footing eventually.

He added: “That’s the thing when you’re on TV for an hour every day — you can’t really fake too much. It always comes out one way or the other.”

Jennings has had a little more game show experience than Seacrest, who replaced Pat Sajak on Wheel of Fortune this past September. Jennings spent two years as a host guest on the show before becoming the sole personality in December of 2023.

He was also a previous Jeopardy! champion who won 74 consecutive games in 2004.

Both Jeopardy! And The Price is Right airs weekdays on CBS while Wheel of Fortune is televised on ABC.
