Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have had a hard time in recent years, but despite what people say, I like them. Let’s face it, there are many more controversial members of the Royal Family. Given Andrew’s many scandals, I’m not sure anyone can really remember why they weren’t fans of Harry and Meghan in the first place. The former prince has far outweighed anything mildly “bad” that Harry and Meghan might have ever done. Prince Harry and Meghan could have been a powerhouse for the Royal Family, with the number of working royals dwindling.

I remember watching their wedding in 2018 and thinking it looked like the picture of perfection, with Meghan beaming up at Harry as he removed her veil. Hopes for the future looked so bright as the nation watched on and celebrated another royal wedding, one watched and admired by millions of royal fans all over the world. Back in the good old days, the couple could often be seen representing the Royal Family and carrying out various duties. But things have sadly taken a turn for the worse from there, much to the loss of the Royal Family at a time when they need an extra pair of hands.

Now based in Montecito, California, the couple has continued their charity work since leaving The Firm and continues to publicly support causes they are passionate about.

In 2020, they founded the Archwell Foundation, now known as Archwell Philanthropies, their joint charity. The charity has advocated for safer digital spaces and the responsible development of artificial intelligence – a growing concern. It has also funded support for children affected by conflict in Gaza and Ukraine, as well as supporting charities such as Children in Need.

For me, Prince Harry and Meghan have a relatability to them, they’re not perfect and don’t pretend to be – isn’t that just like anyone else?

Prince Harry, like many families across the UK and the world, has famously struggled with family troubles and quarrels. Most of us are lucky enough not to have to have this plastered all over the news. Meghan Markle wasn’t raised a royal; she lived a life away from the limelight before becoming an actress and joining the Royal Family.

Alongside Prince William and Princess Catherine, the couple could have been a perfect fit. Especially when William becomes King and the ‘new era’ of the monarchy begins – one that seems likely to have a less formal, more jeans and a t-shirt feel.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle must be revelling in their decision to step away from the royals, with even more scandals hitting the family since their departure. Andrew has come off much worse than the pair ever could, with public uproar through the roof.

Andrew’s links to Epstein continue to destroy the Royal Family, with a never-ending debate over what the monarchy should do about the former prince as fresh allegations continue to be levelled. He has always denied any wrongdoing.
