I Will Find You has quickly become one of Netflix’s most talked-about thriller series, earning worldwide attention for its fast-paced storytelling and the signature plot twists that have made bestselling author Harlan Coben a household name.

Sam Worthington Returns in an Emotionally Powerful Role

Following the success of Harlan Coben adaptations such as Fool Me Once, Missing You, and The Stranger, Netflix has brought another of the acclaimed author’s bestselling novels to the screen with I Will Find You.

Premiering on June 18 with eight episodes, the series marks a milestone as the first Harlan Coben adaptation under Netflix’s partnership to be set in the United States, rather than Europe.

The story follows David Burroughs (played by Sam Worthington), a man serving a life sentence after being convicted of murdering his three-year-old son, Matthew. Although he has always maintained his innocence, David lives with overwhelming guilt and heartbreak over the tragedy that shattered his family.

Everything changes when Rachel Mills (Britt Lower), David’s former sister-in-law and an award-winning journalist, brings him a photograph taken by chance. In it appears a young boy bearing unmistakable similarities to Matthew.

Convinced that his son may still be alive, David makes the desperate decision to escape from prison and uncover the truth. But the closer he gets to the answers, the deeper he becomes entangled in a web of secrets, conspiracies, and powerful figures determined to keep the past buried.

Best known for his work in the Avatar franchise, Sam Worthington delivers a very different performance here, portraying a father consumed by grief, desperation, and unwavering determination.

Speaking to Netflix Tudum, Worthington said the emotional journey of the character—and the constant twists in the script—were what attracted him most to the project.

“What drew me in were the twists and surprises throughout the story,” Worthington said.

Joining him is Britt Lower, widely recognized for her acclaimed role in Severance. She plays Rachel, a key figure in the investigation and the person who helps David uncover the first clues.

The series also features Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us) as Hayden, a character who initially appears trustworthy but is ultimately connected to some of the story’s biggest secrets.

Classic Harlan Coben: The More You Watch, the Harder It Is to Predict

Fans familiar with Harlan Coben’s work will immediately recognize the storytelling style that defines I Will Find You.

The bestselling author has built his reputation on stories filled with family secrets, mysterious disappearances, seemingly innocent characters, and shocking twists that arrive precisely when viewers least expect them.

Over the past decade, Netflix has created what many fans consider a “Harlan Coben universe,” producing numerous hit thriller series enjoyed around the world. I Will Find You follows that successful formula while placing an even stronger emphasis on action and suspense, as David must evade the FBI while racing against time to find his son.

This blend of mystery, action, and emotional family drama is one of the key reasons the series has resonated so strongly with thriller fans.

One of the show’s greatest strengths is its relentless pace. Every episode introduces new clues, new suspects, or hidden secrets that completely reshape everything viewers thought they knew. The narrative moves like a roller coaster, giving audiences almost no chance to catch their breath before the next revelation.

That storytelling approach has also made Harlan Coben’s adaptations somewhat divisive. Fans praise the nonstop suspense and unpredictable plotting, while some critics argue the stories occasionally become overly ambitious or stretch credibility.

Even so, most agree on one thing: the series has an extraordinary ability to keep viewers pressing “Next Episode.”

If you enjoyed Fool Me Once, Missing You, or any fast-paced mystery thriller packed with unexpected twists, I Will Find You is a series well worth adding to your watchlist.

A Thrilling Premise That Keeps Viewers Hooked

At its core, I Will Find You revolves around a compelling question: What if a father convicted of murdering his own child discovers that the child may actually still be alive?

From that moment, the series launches into an intense race between truth and deception, fatherly love and long-buried secrets.

With eight tightly paced episodes, an accomplished cast led by Sam Worthington, and Harlan Coben’s trademark twist-filled storytelling, I Will Find You is an ideal choice for anyone looking for a binge-worthy thriller capable of keeping them glued to the screen all weekend.
