A NIGHT TO REMEMBER: ANDREA BOCELLI & BRIAN MAY UNITE FOR A TIMELESS MUSICAL EXPERIENCE!

Brian May and Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli teamed up for a duet of Queen‘s “Who Wants to Live Forever” last year during a three-day concert event, “Andrea Bocelli 30: The Celebration,” that celebrated the singer in his hometown Lajatico in Tuscany.
Performances from the event have been airing as a concert film on PBS since February, and now Bocelli’s duet with May has been posted on YouTube via the former’s official channel.
The rendition sees May taking lead vocals — the Queen guitarist is also a phenomenal singer — with spine-chilling accompaniment from Bocelli and a backing symphony. May also provides lead guitarwork and some massive chord swells, guiding an altogether pristine performance.
“The first thing that struck me about Brian May was his serene, classic aura, which belied the rock legend his name represents worldwide,” Bocelli said [via Classic Rock]. “This meeting evoked a genuine, deep esteem for this man of rare intelligence and culture – one which I hope is mutual. One of the best guitarists of our time, a songwriter who has penned numerous timeless hits, an astrophysicist, and an intellectual with a noble soul.”
More recently, Bocelli was joined by May during a show this past July, also at the Teatro del Silenzo in Lajatico.
Per Setlist.fm, May joined the tenor onstage for “Canto della terra” and May’s own “Too Much Love Will Kill You,” a song the guitarist has rarely performed live over the past two decades. Here, May again takes lead vocals with the accompaniment of Bocelli and the symphony — to similarly stunning results, as captured in audience foertisement.
The performances alongside Bocelli bookend May’s health scare last September when he suffered a stroke and lost the use of his left arm temporarily. The footage from the July 2025 show with Bocelli is certainly encouraging, as the guitarist looks to be back at full capacity physically and vocally.
