In a bombshell development that has left Tupac Shakur’s devoted fans reeling with frustration, the long-awaited murder trial of Duane “Keefe D” Davis – the only man ever charged in the iconic rapper’s 1996 killing – has been pushed back yet again. The Las Vegas courtroom drama, already stretching nearly three decades since the fatal drive-by shooting, will now not begin until August 10, 2026, after a Nevada judge granted a six-month delay.

The decision came down in late November 2025 from District Court Judge Carli Kierny, who approved a motion from Keefe D’s defense team to give them more time to sift through what they called a “voluminous” mountain of evidence. Prosecutors, led by Clark County DA Steve Wolfson, did not oppose the request – a move that has sparked outrage among those desperate for closure in one of hip-hop’s greatest mysteries.

Keefe D, now 62, has been locked up without bail at the Clark County Detention Center since his dramatic arrest in September 2023. Keefe D’s new attorney, Robert Draskovich, argued the “overwhelming” discovery volume made it impossible to prepare adequately.
