I’m A Celebrity fans were left gagging and gasping last night as bubbly campmate Sam Thompson faced one of the show’s most nightmarish Bush Tucker Trials ever – being buried alive under THOUSANDS of vicious fire ants!

The 33-year-old former King of the Jungle was strapped into a glass box while buckets of the ferocious biting insects – famous for their excruciating stings – were poured straight over his head, face, and body in a challenge that pushed psychological and physical limits to breaking point.

As the red ants swarmed relentlessly, nipping at his skin and crawling into his ears, nose, and mouth, Sam’s blood-curdling screams echoed through the jungle: ‘They’re everywhere! It burns!’

Even hosts Ant and Dec looked queasy as the ants delivered their fiery venom, creating scenes so gruesome viewers branded it ‘torture porn’.

Sam powered through for an heroic six stars – but emerged shaking, covered in angry red welts, and fighting tears.
