Viewers of ITV‘s hit game show Ant & Dec’s Limitless Win were left fuming after a festive special aired on Saturday night, with many accusing the programme of being rigged to hand celebrity guest Jamie Redknapp and his partner an easy £30,000 win.

The Christmas episode, which saw unsuspecting audience members paired with famous faces including Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden and former Liverpool footballer Jamie Redknapp, quickly descended into controversy as one team racked up three consecutive perfect answers — something fans branded “statistically impossible”.

The backlash exploded on social media, with the hashtag #Fix trending alongside #LimitlessWin and #Rigged. Furious viewers took to X (formerly Twitter) to vent their frustration, claiming the questions were suspiciously straightforward and designed to guarantee a big payout for the festive edition.

One angry viewer posted: “Three exact answers in a row! Woahhhhh! 😂 Happy Christmas, the next question is… what is your house number?” Another quipped: “The golf course question was a bit of a gimmie,” while a third fumed: “This is an obvious fix to give Jamie Redknapp and his mate the money.”

The drama centred on the team of army veteran Nigel Seaman, founder of Combat2Coffee — a business supporting ex-servicemen’s mental health — and his celebrity partner Jamie Redknapp.

The pair stormed up the show’s iconic Limitless Ladder, where contestants must guess numerical answers without going over the correct figure. Their run included three pinpoint-accurate responses that left hosts Ant & Dec visibly stunned.

First, when asked how many holes are on a standard golf course, Jamie and Nigel confidently dialed in 32 — while Ant & Dec low-balled them at 28. The correct answer? 32. “That doesn’t happen often,” Dec admitted on air.

They followed it up with another perfect hit on the number of segments in a chocolate orange (or a similar festive-themed query), before sealing the deal with the infamous Where’s Wally question: “How many stripes does Where’s Wally have on his T-shirt?”

Without hesitation, they answered 10 — and they were spot on. Wally’s iconic red-and-white striped shirt has exactly 10 red stripes.

The team banked £30,000 before deciding to walk away, with Nigel visibly emotional. The former soldier broke down in tears during his introduction, prompting Ant & Dec to hand him tissues as he explained the money would help his charity business.

Jamie, who already knew Nigel through veterans’ initiatives, praised his partner as “an amazing man” and walked off arm-in-arm with him.

Despite the backlash, the special was a ratings hit, with millions tuning in to see the celebrity pairings. Amanda Holden helped another contestant, though their run ended after just five questions.

For Nigel, the win was life-changing. “I put my savings into Combat2Coffee,” he said post-show. “This money will make such a difference.”

Jamie Redknapp, no stranger to the spotlight, has remained silent on the accusations so far.
